Michael W. Hoffman grew up in Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Political Science. He worked for several years as a political fundraiser for state and national campaigns before attending law school at Florida State University. His extensive involvement in law school included work as a Certified Legal Intern for the State Attorney’s Office, a Legislative Fellow for the Florida House of Representatives, and a judicial intern for then-Chief Judge Robert C. Chambers of the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
Following law school, Mr. Hoffman returned to work for Judge Chambers as a judicial law clerk where he provided research, analysis, and draft opinions and orders. He then moved back to the Tampa Bay area to serve as an Assistant State Attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida. As a prosecutor, Mr. Hoffman managed a caseload exceeding 500 active cases for which he handled discovery obligations, dispositive motion hearings, and taking jury trials to verdict. Drawing on the analytical abilities and oratory skills acquired from his past work, Mr. Hoffman left the public sector to represent policyholders on issues of insurance coverage and bad faith at a prominent Miami-based firm specializing in those issues. He has relocated to Colorado and brings his broad experience to Glade Voogt Lopez Smith Felser P.C.
